Bayliss Boatworks construction update: Seven - Bayliss 62'
by Bayliss Boatworks 9 Jul 2020 15:16 UTC
The month of June was all about fairing and priming on Seven (Bayliss 62'). Over the last month, the cockpit has continued to develop. The overhang ceiling was constructed and the grill center was built. The entire mezzanine was faired at the month's end and is now ready for primer.
The teak cockpit deck panels have been cut and caulked in preparation for installation in the coming weeks. The tuna door was also cut and hinged in mid-June and the crew has begun fabrication of the engine room companionway lid.
Meanwhile, the flybridge and bow deck are ready for the final coat of primer after meticulous rounds of sanding. Before this takes place in early July, our carpentry crews will complete the window molding and half-round installations.
Within Seven's interior, build-out has begun in the galley, staterooms, and tackle room. Fabrication of everything from bunks to head vanities is under way in the cabinetry shop. The crew will soon begin mocking up the dinette.
Our mechanical crew has been hard at work in the engine room and pump room. This month, the crew will install the fresh water pump in the pump room and continue engine and generator fuel hook-ups in the engine room. The electrical crew has begun on wire runs within the tackle centers.
It won't be long before we install the teak deck and coverboards, and shortly after that, Seven will head into the paint bay for final paint!
