Our very own 62-foot build is getting close to her christening date! Late June was an exciting time at the shop. Department supervisors gathered in the cockpit on Tarheel (Bayliss 62') as we took her out for the first sea trial. She performed beautifully, surpassing our expectations for speed, even before running gear finalizations.
Upon entering Tarheel's cabin, the teak galley cabinetry is a stunning focal point, and the granite countertops pop against the dark grain. In the salon, sleek sofas line either side of the room. All that is left to complete on the interior are the final touches, including soft goods and carpet installation.
Tarheel's christening will take place in just a couple of weeks. Once she hits the water, she has a busy tournament season ahead of her, beginning with the Dare County Boat Builder's Tournament July 24-27, 2019.
