NEW PRODUCT SHOWCASE

Never Lay Down Your Sword

DAIWAs new SEABORG G1800M-RJ is the most formidable power-assist reel ever introduced.

FOOTHILL RANCH, CA (July 16, 2024) Whats the best way to test the muster of a power-assist reel? Put it on a swordfishing boat. These warrior captains and their crews obsess over the massive, powerful, and elusive dwellers of the abyss. By day, swordfish cruise the ocean floor in depths measured by hundreds and thousands of feet, only rising for nocturnal pillaging. If hooked, they can peel line at 50 mph. And theres a strong chance the torpedo-shaped leviathan weighs over 200-pounds, perhaps well over 200

Not the environment for undersized and unreliable gear.

To the good fortune of swordfish enthusiasts and big fish hunters in general DAIWA introduces the new SEABORG G1800M-RJ. Its the most legit swordfish reel to hit the market, said DAIWA Field Marketing Manager, Chris Martin.

The new SEABORG G1800M-RJ is a powerhouse and will be welcomed by recreational and commercial swordfish anglers alike, added Martin. And its use isnt limited to swordfish, either. The reel can crossover to other large, deep-ranging species like black grouper, Warsaw grouper, and greater amberjack.

While discussing fish species, its important to note that the new SEABORG G1800M-RJ doubles as a masterful kite fishing reel, too, taming giant surface-blasting fish like marlin, bluefin tuna, wahoo, and sailfish. The reels hard silicon carbide (SiC) level-wind guide is generously sized for swivels and line connections to easily pass through.

Speaking of line, the reels capacity is impressive to say the least. The SEABORG G1800M-RJs deep spool easily accommodates 100 lb. plus superlines, like DAIWAs Saltiga Boat Braided Line. And even with line weights of that magnitude, you can spool over 1,000 yards to tackle fish wherever they are.

The centerpiece technology in the new SEABORG is its new MAGMAX-G MOTOR. The motors winding force is remarkable In fact, the new SEABORG G1800M-RJ is 170% more powerful than our current SEBORG 1200, said Martin. As well, we increased the drag by 150% compared to the SEABORG 1200.

MEGATWIN is another game-changer. With the push of a button, you can instantly drop into a lower gear for added power if youre at a stalemate with a big fish, said Martin. Think of it like going from 4-high to 4-low to gain traction and really dig in.

Martin closed by noting the reels unique Bluetooth remote: Just like you control a trolling motor with the remote, with the new SEABORG, you can manage key functions with the included remote. It really comes in handy if youre running multiple lines and at the same time trying to keep the boat in perfect position.

DAIWA says with confidence that the new SEABORG G1800M-RJ is the finest and most robust power-assist reel to fish the Seven Seas.

SEABORG G1800M-RJ FEATURES:

New MAGMAX-G MOTOR

Slide brush motor with neodymium magnets yield excellent response, instantaneous power, and extra-fast retrieve. The durable MAGMAX-G MOTOR provides 1.3 times greater pulling power and 4 times more durability than previous motors, as well as tendering an impressive 80 lbs. of hoisting power.

New MEGATWIN

A two-gear ratio system that lets you instantly switch to a lower gear with less speed but significantly increased force. Ideal for moving a fish off the bottom or gaining on a stubborn fighting fish.

ALUMINUM COMPOSITE HOUSING

Polished and armored aluminum housing that protects against saltwater corrosion, while concurrently releasing heat to keep the motor cool, ensuring that power is always available.

DRAG SYSTEM

Industry leading 9 series-stack of carbon drag washers improve the smoothness and consistency of line payout while fighting a fish. Hooks are far less likely to pop loose if the line goes slack. Maximum drag pressure is 110 lbs. of force.

MAGSEALED BALL BEARINGS

A magnetic liquid wall prevents water and foreign matter from contacting the reels 22 ball-bearings, guarding against rust, salt buildup, and noise, while maintaining the ball bearing's original rotational performance.

JOG POWER LEVER

Make instant and convenient power adjustments without taking your hand off the rod. The flexible one thumb operation allows for precision lever operation, making it possible to control the winding speed at will.

REMOTE JOG

View critical line information and control the reel via a Bluetooth connected remote control. Monitor and manage the reel while supervising a drift, rigging, or chilling up in the tower.

LCD DISPLAY

Bright multilanguage LCD Display with key features like a line counter, depth memory, reels speed, and more.
