At the 10th anniversary edition of Foiling Week we have seen 7 foiling classes and the SuMoth prototypes in action on Lake Garda, with the event concluding tomorrow. Besides racing, so much more is happening throughout the event. Giving back to the community through education, innovation and sustainability, is an important aspect for Foiling Week and is implemented in different ways with the support of many of its partners and exhibitors.

The Splicing Masterclass "Technological Innovations in Fiber for the Foiling World" led by Foiling Week Ropes Official Partner Gottifredi Maffioli was standing room only. As a third-generation rigger, Luigi Maffioli was excited to provide this education at his first foiling week. "The sailors here like tweaking their equipment, the running rigging, all the lines," he said. Maffioli adds that the demands of high-speed foiling drive innovation in rigging and many athletes and teams need these skills as they are at the cutting edge of development.

Briano Martonini of Green Future Project has partnered with Foiling Week to create a carbon reduction plan for the event. He hopes that this group of passionate athletes, engineers, students and designers will become champions of decarbonization. This is Green Future Project's first time at Foiling Week. "What we're doing here is first measuring the event's impact through our survey of our host and participants," said Martinoni. "Once we have our data, we understand the more critical areas of impact. Then we will work with the organization next year to bring the same service and event but with less impact.

To generate a report a survey has been shared with participants and visitors of Foiling Week, organizers kindly ask everyone attending to fill out the form and help improve the carbon footprint of the event in future years.

An innovative product is showcased by Trimsense and offers a revolution in sail trimming by delivering accurate, objective data about sail shape in real time. This advanced technology allows sailors to monitor, compare and analyze their sail trim and improve skills consistently.

Exhibitor Flag Turbines put a product developed by Maarten van Oeveren on display which is a micro wind turbine. The model is offering solutions for off-grid living, marinas and much more. "This technology makes wind energy generation more accessible to a larger group of people. The objective is to bring renewable wind energy to the thinnest power cable and provide year-round low power to off-grid systems".
