Hard to believe it's been over a year since we launched the Viking 64, which has enjoyed great success with more than a dozen boats already delivered. The Viking 64 builds upon the effective design traits of previous models - particularly its predecessor, the iconic Viking 62 (70-plus boats delivered). Performance has been enhanced through subtle modifications to the running surface, resulting in a smooth, fast and dry ride with excellent maneuverability and visibility.
Here's a good look at the 64's business end and her 180-square-foot cockpit. All walking surfaces - and the coaming and covering boards - can be clad with teak. An aluminum backing plate laminated into the sole provides strength for fighting chair, rocket launcher or table installations. The flybridge overhang keeps the observation mezzanine cool and dry. Air conditioning is also available for this raised seating area.
A single centerline lazarette hatch (available with power actuation) that opens nearly 90 degrees provides excellent access for maintenance and service to the available Seakeeper 26. The hatch design is extremely effective at keeping the space dry.
Refinements continue on the flybridge, which boasts a clean, streamlined center console with a black acrylic helm dash holding a trio of flush-mounted displays. The design maximizes the captain's view and access to the touchscreen monitors as well as the switches and engine displays.
The 64's open-concept living arrangements have a natural flow, promoting socialization while providing separate gathering areas. The home theater is on the port side, with its 50-inch pop-up HD TV and four-person raised dinette (with pull-out rod storage below and optional HD TV above), while the L-shaped lounge and walnut cocktail table and galley are on the starboard side.
The 64's beam spans nearly 19 feet - and we've made every inch count. With four staterooms and three heads, no other sportfisher in this size range has more interior volume. Above left: the owner's stateroom with its queen walkaround bed and twin hanging lockers. Above right: the aft port stateroom's excellent use of space, with its side-by-side bunks.
Like all Vikings, the 64's engineroom stands out as a showpiece of mechanical expertise, coated with a durable Snow White Awlgrip polyurethane enamel for enhanced visibility and access.
As you make your way around the optional MTU Series 12V 2000 M96X (2002MHP) engines, you have exceptional headroom of 6 feet, 3 inches and excellent assess to all components.
We leave you with this stunning image, taken from water level, which showcases the custom Palm Beach Towers hardtop and tuna tower. The 64 is available with a tower, as a hardtop boat or with an enclosed bridge. For more information about the Viking 64 - including its availability - please contact your authorized Viking dealer.
