Jarrett Bay Boatworks has recently delivered their second-largest, truly-custom build to date: the 84-foot open bridge convertible "Reel Development".

Originally commissioned by a seasoned sportfishing family with a desire for long-range campaigns to some of the world's hottest billfisheries, the original owners' change in plans rendered a highly desired custom convertible two-thirds complete — with her engines, generators, gyro stabilizers and cabin top already installed. The 84-footer soon found a new owner with great ambition and vision for extensive travels and future tournament wins.

The Reel Development team will be able to pursue their wildest offshore dreams with their new 84' thanks to the 3,600-gallon fuel capacity and extremely efficient MTU 16V Series 2000 M96L engines generating a combined 5,200 HP. All that power propels this Jarrett Bay to a 40-knot top end while offering up a 33.5-knot cruise. Twin 38 kW Northern Lights generators provide ample power for every system and creature comfort, while the twin Seakeeper SK16 gyro stabilizers will ensure a near-zero roll experience for anglers and guests while fishing or under way. The engine room is yacht-grade finish, fully-climate controlled, set up for ease of maintenance and easily accessed directly from either the mezzanine or crew's quarters.

This 84' beauty boasts a 21' 8" beam which affords a generous 260 square foot cockpit complete with a glass front, 210-gallon transom fishbox and livewell, and two in-deck fish boxes at 120 gallons each. Forward of the cockpit is a spacious air-conditioned mezzanine loaded with concealed storage including two large ice dumps, a freezer with bait trays, a large drink box and gaff storage.

Although a good portion of the interior and bridge layout had been set, there was still room for refinements and innovative upgrades by hull 60's new owners. The bridge layout includes a large center console helm complete with integrated 260-gal freezer and large sun lounge forward with additional storage. The signature Jarrett Bay teak helm pod is complemented with three massive 24" Garmin multi-function displays, and bridge guests can join the captain in comfort thanks to a dedicated A/C system.

To support the owner and crew's long-range adventures, the stunning satin cherry finished interior has been optimized for both comfort and hard-core fishing. Convenient rod and tackle storage is hidden under the large U-shaped settee along with pull-out storage under the dinette and inside the galley-forward pantry area. The galley features a full-size oven and microwave with dual under-counter Subzero refrigeration, plus ample storage in cabinetry below and above. The pantry area accessed at the top of the companionway just forward of the galley includes a full-size Subzero freezer and additional provisions storage.

Once the sun sets on a day of action in the cockpit, the team can retreat to any of the four plush staterooms below, each with their own private head including an enclosed stand-up shower. A fifth stateroom and head are located aft and serve as dedicated crew quarters with direct access to the engine room. Each stateroom is connected to a central A/V system with a built-in flatscreen TV, and ample storage throughout including full-sized cedar lined closets. The stunning interior refinements continue below with wainscoting through the companionways and walnut flooring with a cherry inlay in wet areas including the full laundry room. Plus, additional sleeping space is revealed when the flush-mounted Pullman berth is lowered by hand.

Jarrett Bay's 84' custom masterpiece blends classic with high-tech as her traditional cold-molded hull is met with resin-infused composite deck components and cabin top. The breathtaking satin cherry finishes throughout the interior hide a bevy of components, equipment and storage spaces that equate to one of the most elite, high-performance sportfishing battlewagons of the future. Custom hull 60 was designed, engineered and built to trek to faraway locales throughout the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and beyond. Her prime directive will soon be under way once the Reel Development team has completed a few weeks of home water fishing along the Mid-Atlantic.

Photos and video clips of the high-gloss teak transom emblazoned with Reel Development, and her brilliant Alexseal Yacht Coatings Aristo Blue hull have already been leaked to social media from initial sea trials along the Crystal Coast of North Carolina. These serve as mere teases to the full assault of photo and video coverage soon to be released to the world by our talented team, showcasing the next impressive launch from the highly esteemed and awarded Beaufort custom boat builder.
