New 68-ft Jarrett Bay delivered: Introducing Renegade (2.0)

by Jarrett Bay Boatworks 8 Feb 18:07 UTC

Jarrett Bay Boatworks is honored to have delivered a second custom sportfish to an owner seeking to enjoy the comfort, performance and highly customized functionality of a Jarrett Bay, whether fishing their favorite destinations in the Atlantic or Pacific.

Not long after taking delivery of the commissioned Hull 67— a 56' Open Convertible— in July of 2022, it was decided it's multiple vantage points, lower helm station and convertible bulkhead would serve as the owner's ideal fishing platform for the Pacific's billfish hotspots, instead of its originally intended home waters around South Florida & The Bahamas. These wishes, combined with the opportunity to step into the in-progress Hull 64—which would provide more space and amenities for extended travels along the East Coast, Caribbean and Eastern Atlantic—have culminated in the newest 68-foot addition to the RENEGADE armada.

Like her 56' sister, Hull 64's faux-teak transom also pays homage to the owner's alma mater in name and likeness. Complementing the Alexseal Cloud White hull and topsides, premier marine artist Monique Richter, masterfully emblazoned the transom in honor of Florida State University's Appaloosa—a symbol of resilience and courage, along with the fiery spear planted midfield prior to each FSU home game.

This newest progression of a Jarrett Bay 68-foot hull stays true to its custom Carolina heritage, yet represents the future of sportfish performance and functionality. Using proprietary matrices and other cutting-edge materials, lamination and infusion processes developed for Jarrett Bay's game-changing 90' JARUCO, this 68' follows suit with next-level performance, resolute construction and confidence-inspiring safety.

With stringers wide enough to handle her powerhouse twin C32Bs at 2,400 hp each, the list of tournament-winning amenities and additional customizations in RENEGADE's engine room and pump room is what you might expect to only find on a much larger sportfish. At the top of this list are three Seakeeper 9 gyro stabilizers, two Caterpillar C2.2T gensets with continuous 25kw power and built-in tool storage. An electronically controlled fuel polishing and transfer system is the result of collaborative efforts between AXI, Boning Automation and Jarrett Bay engineers. A Furuno OmniSonar system, a 3,000 gallon-per-day FCI modular watermaker, ElectroSea Clearline descaling system, a watertight door to the cockpit, and full AC throughout, rounds out the engine room amenities. Her maintenance-friendly appointments, bright white finish and LED lighting ensure superior illumination in this critical workspace.

Jarrett Bay's proven modified-vee hull design uses steadfastly seaworthy, yet lightweight materials allowing her to be faster and more economical than most boats in her class. RENEGADE holds true to this statement with her impressive responsiveness maneuvering through rough sea trial waters. Equally impressive is her efficient cruise of 40kts and wide-open speed of 44kts.

Flybridge & Electronics highlights include:

  • Large center console layout
  • Signature Jarrett Bay teak helm pod
  • Release Marine Trillion Series teak helm chairs
  • Port and starboard seating with Release Marine seat backs and storage under
  • (2) 40 gallon freezers with access from port or starboard
  • Large sun lounge with storage under
  • Portside refrigerated stainless lunch box for captain's day provisions
  • (2) 22" and (1) 19" 9000 Series 4K Garmin console displays
  • (1) 12" overhead display
  • Auto-retrieve teaser reels
  • Recessed electronics pod in hard top
  • Full A/C throughout
The business end of this battlewagon invites guests to enjoy all the cockpit action from the A/C cooled, stylishly curved mezzanine, and even dine al fresco with an Electric Chief grill built into the starboard side tackle center. The mezzanine serves double duty housing a refrigerated drink box, refrigerated bait tray storage, an insulated ice dump, and gaff & cleaning product storage in the steps and port armrest. A variety fishing styles are served by a Release Marine Trillion Series fighting chair for blue marlin battles and an interchangeable 11-hole rocket launcher when stand-up fishing for sailfish and white marlin. A transom tuna door with hidden swim ladder brackets, a 160 gallon transom baitwell with glass front, and an 150 gallon in-deck fish box with a dedicated ice machine complement the arsenal.

The exterior appeal of Hull 64 is elevated with a custom 8' gap Palm Beach Tuna Tower, 46' Rupp four-spreader outriggers and Lumishore lighting fixtures throughout. A flush-mounted egress hatch on the bow, and a spacious hidden storage compartment in the brow of the cabin top, makes the crew's foredeck work easier.

Moving to the interior, the satin-finished, teak-accented salon offers a relaxing escape to help wind down from an action-packed day offshore. Meticulously bookmatched veneers at eye level, and maple-inlay in the teak floors provide a telling nod to the incredible number of manhours Jarrett Bay's master craftsmen have involved in this build. A large L-shaped sofa with ample storage within plays host to viewing the great outdoors through double-tinted windows for extra privacy and heat deflection, or watching Starlink-streamed action on the 55" electrically-actuated television. Overhead and outboard illuminated A/C valences provide comfort and style to this space, while custom spirits, wine bottle and glass storage in the TV cabinet and dinette pedestal keep everything safely in place in between cocktail hours.

Ready for extended travel with a full crew, family and friends, the 4-stateroom / 3-head layout on the lower level also plays host to a large tackle closet for rod and reel storage, which includes a one-of-a-kind custom-etched glass door with accent illumination. Additional lower-level storage under any bed larger than a twin is accessed with ease thanks to electric bunk lifts. And the Master and VIP staterooms provide the extra comforts of home with a central AV system and built-in TVs.

Stepping back up to the galley, you will find everything needed for fine dining at the dock and extended stays on the hook with a Wolf electric cooktop, (2) undercounter 24" Sub-Zero refrigerators and (1) undercounter 24" Sub-Zero freezer, a True Clear Ice Machine, a 15" Sub-Zero Designer undercounter built-in wine cooler; built-in microwave behind custom cabinetry; and a large pantry in the forward brow for additional dry goods and equipment storage.

RENEGADE is yet another feat of comfortably accommodating a full crew and guests on remote adventures while never losing sight of Jarrett Bay's commitment to top performance, durability, seakeeping and safety. This 68' Jarrett Bay is the company's latest interpretation of their customer's perfect floating fortress and will undoubtedly tame the often-unrelenting seas and rigors of their big game pursuits.
