Zenaq Defi Muthos Sonio Type R Rods © Fish Head
This week at Fish Head, We have a new YouTube video with two rods; the Zenaq Defi Muthos Sonio 100M and 93M Type R. The good news is these are two awesome rods, made even better in the Zenaq 'Type R' build.
The bad news is that the first shipment sold out before arrival, so you may need to wait an extra month or two to get your hands on the rods. They rods are available for pre-order by emailing or calling us on 07 5596 3444.
The Sonio rods are the lightest models in the Zenaq Defi Muthos range, coming in just under the popular Accura models. The Sonio 93M and 100M are built to cast smaller lures, while still having the capacity to catch large fish. The rods suit lures in the 20-80g range best and line up to PE# 3 making them perfect to target a huge range of species of the rocks.
The Sonio is built as an all-rounder shore casting rod to work everything from jigs to poppers. However the faster taper of the 93M makes it better suited to more technical retrieves with minnows, stickbaits and poppers, while the longer tip section and more moderate taper gives it the upper hand with shore jigging. The crisp and responsive blank has plenty of power in the bottom end to turn a fish away from structure when needed, while the sensitive tip works a variety of lures to perfection. The Sonio series are perfect for casting lures at tailor, kahawai, mulloway, as well as smaller kings, mackerel and tuna off the rocks.
As part of the 'Type R' build, the rods feature Zenaqs superb new Hexagon reel seat, which holds a 5000-6000 size saltwater reel nice and snug and the RG guide system has been updated with the new Fuji Titanium RV and LRV stripper guides.
