Thank you to everyone who provided feedback during the Spanish mackerel consultation last year.
On 1 January, the recreational boat limit increased to 4 fish per boat with 4 or more people on board.
The total allowable commercial catch is also proposed to increase to 250 tonnes and we are contacting commercial fishers to discuss their quota allocations and the commencement date.
The 75 cm minimum size limit, seasonal closures, charter fishing trip limits, and the individual recreational possession limit of 1 fish per person remain the same.
