The SIPS25 Fishing Competition has wrapped up, celebrating 25 years of Queensland's Stocked Impoundment Permit Scheme (SIPS) with an impressive turnout of anglers across 61 stocked dams and weirs.
More than 460 competitors took part in the 2-week event, catching over 2,100 fish - including 37 tilapia and 3 carp removed as pest species.
One standout performance came from junior angler Amy Richards, who claimed the Most Fish Caught in south-east Queensland title, with an incredible 326 fish landed with the help of her grandfather.
It's no surprise this young angler took out the top spot, with a lifetime of fishing experience and a "poppa" who's clearly passed down both skill and passion for the sport.
Her story is a great reminder that fishing isn't just about the catch - it's about shared time, family traditions and passing down a love for the outdoors.
Other top catches included a 116 cm barramundi caught by Kris Lassig and 5 Australian bass over 50 cm, landed by Josh Allan.
Thank you to everyone who took part in making SIPS 25 such a memorable milestone for Queensland's freshwater fishing community.
