Simrad® Marine Electronics, a leader in marine electronics and navigation, today announced the launch of FishCast® powered by ROFFS®, now available as an intuitive overlay on select Simrad® displays. This exclusive integration brings professional-grade fishing forecasts directly to the chartplotter with no additional hardware required.

Built exclusively for Simrad® displays and fully integrated with C-MAP charts, FishCast®, developed by Fathom Science®, now combines over a decade of ROFFS® fishing forecast analyses with real-time oceanographic intelligence. With FishCast®, no extra gear is needed, just a simple subscription purchased from the C-MAP store unlocks direct access to powerful fishing insights. FishCast® uses the same oceanographic intelligence trusted by tournament pros, including key habitat parameters like water temperature, ocean color/clarity, currents, frontal boundaries, bottom structure, and ROFFS® historical hotspot data. This data is analyzed using Fathom Science's AI-enabled ocean analytics to produce optimal catch location maps, reducing uncertainty and increasing confidence.
Developed for offshore fishing, FishCast® enables forward-looking planning by allowing users to scroll through real time and forecasted Sea Surface Temperature, Ocean Color, and hotspots for upcoming hours and days. Daily forecasts are broken into three-hour windows, providing the detail needed to optimize time on the water. Users can define a custom search radius of up to 120 nautical miles from a selected home port. FishCast® then generates a ranked list of optimal fishing spots within that area. The overlay can be toggled on or off and works in conjunction with other Simrad® chart layers, like radar and bathymetry, creating a comprehensive angling toolkit.

This seamless integration ensures fast, reliable access to expert fishing forecasts directly from the helm. Coverage currently includes the entire U.S. East Coast, Gulf of Mexico, Bahamas, and parts of the northern Caribbean, with expansion to additional regions planned.
FishCast® Powered by ROFFS® is available by subscription and will be showcased for the first time at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, October 29 - November 2.
