2025 European Youth Snipe Championship at Real Club Náutico de Madrid - Overall

by Prensa Sailing Comunicación 14 Apr 19:02 UTC 12-14 April 2025

The European Youth Snipe Championship, held in the town of San Martín de Valdeiglesias since Saturday, has come to an end in the Madrid reservoir of San Juan. It does so without being able to award the title of European champion because the wind conditions have played against the organising committee and the sailors.

On this third day, with an early start time of 10:30, it was possible to sail, although only two races were completed and three were needed to validate the European title. With these two races, the regatta is valid to establish the champions, both in the overall and women's categories.

In this sense, the title awarded by the Real Club Náutico de Madrid has gone to the Portuguese crew of Afonso Munhá and Francisco Camacho (C.V. Do Barreiro) after recording 4-1 race results. Second place went to Javier Villanueva and Javier Rasilla (RCN Vigo), closing their event with a 5th and 2nd, while the bronze went to the duo of Mauro González-Regueral and Juan García-Tizon (RCN Coruña), after finishing 3rd and 5th in the two finished races.

In the women's category, the title went to Roser Gregorio and Blanca Sintes (CM Mahón) with score of 18th & 6th, scoring 24 points and finishing in 11th place overall.

The trophy ceremony, held at the RCN of Madrid, was attended by Martín Bermúdez, SCIRA Commodore; Manuel Stchini Vilela, SCIRA Europe Secretary; Guillermo Poyán, President of the Madrid Sailing Federation; Arturo Delgado, former SCIRA Commodore; Tobi Carrasco, President of the RCN of Madrid, accompanied by David Peralta, Commodore.
