In a strong aim to protect nature, reduce plastic polution of the oceans, set sail with a low carbon footprint, Heineken Regatta and Sail4Earth join forces.

From Thursday, March 6th, over 180 sailing teams will compete in the 45th Heineken Regatta, spanning four days around the Island of Sint Maarten.

The Oceans and nature are under threat. Sail4Earth offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the protection of this irreplaceable treasure of biodiversity in a way that resonates with sailors, skippers, and boat enthusiasts. Together, we can turn the tide.

First Global co-opetition campaign for sailors

Sail4Earth is the first global co-opetition initiative among sailors, uniting individuals and organizations to protect the planet for just € 1.20 per square meter, using the Uon.Earth app. Participants of the Heineken Regatta can collect the unique 'Heineken Regatta uon collectible' for their boat or crew, adding a personal touch to their contribution.

By sharing their involvement on social media, participants can inspire their communities and collectively compete to protect the largest area of nature & ocean. Starting a campaign to protect nature together, Meter x Meter.

Team Sail4Earth in the 45th Heineken Regatta

Sail4Earth boardmember Cees-Jan Zegers will participate with team Sail4Earth in the 45th Edition of the Heineken Regatta in one of the bareboat classes. The yacht will be visible for all spectators and participants by setting sail with the EarthFlag, our symbol of belonging. All participating yachts and committee boats will receive a courtesy EarthFlag, as a gift in their Skippersbag at the registration desk in the Heineken Regatta Race Village.

Regatta Director Krispijn Teunissen received Monday evening 3rd of March the first EarthFlag of Sail4Earth, presented by Cees-Jan Zegers. In the Heineken Regatta Race Village in Port de Plaisance Krispijn and Cees-Jan met to hand-over the EarthFlag and celebrate the collaboration between Heineken Regatta and Sail4Earth.

Make your contribution personal

With Sail4Earth, you can protect square meters of nature & ocean. These square meters become non erasable uon collectibles: digitally registered parcels of nature & ocean symbolizing your personal contribution. For your contribution you receive a uon, a unique digital proof of protection registered in your name.

Boat owners can even create a uon collectible for their vessel as a non-erasable uon collectible, showcasing their support for the planet. Every boat becomes a floating symbol of conservation and camaraderie. By using the Uon.Earth app, participants can join the Heineken Regatta campaign, collect the Heineken Regatta uon collectible and start making an impact.

Milestones: COP30 2025 in Brazil

The Heineken Regatta and Sail4Earth are bringing the sailing community closer. The next milestone is set In September 2025, Sail4Earth and Flotilla4Change will unite their strengths to embark on a rally to COP30 in Belém, Brazil. The flagship of this initiative, the 120-foot Sailing Yacht Infinity, will lead the way, symbolizing the mission with the EarthFlag. And Greta Thunberg is supporting Flotilla4Change as their global ambassador. This rally aims to bring global attention to the importance of green travel & nature protection, the involvement of indigenous people and the interconnectedness of maritime and environmental efforts.
