Cantieri di Pisa unveils the new interiors of Akhir 44 at the Dubai International Boat Show

by Cantieri di Pisa 22 Feb 04:47 UTC

Cantieri di Pisa presented the interiors of the new Akhir 44 with Pulina Exclusive Interiors, whose design features contrasts between warm materials like bleached oak and cool metal and steel finishes give the yacht a sporty and technological look. The presentation was organized at the Dubai International Boat Show, the most important in the Middle East.

The Dubai International Boat Show was an opportunity for Cantieri di Pisa to present the interiors of the new Akhir 44 in collaboration with their designer Pulina Exclusive Interiors. The yacht's exterior styling, on the other hand, is by Antonio Luxardo, the Yard's chief designer. "The first model in the new series, which will be built in carbon and glass composite and reach a top speed of 35 knots, will combine the iconic lines of the original range with various characteristics designed to meet current market demand," explained Cantieri di Pisa CEO Marco Massabò. "We decided to commission these interiors featuring incredible liveability from Pulina, the high-end Italian design firm with a multi-disciplinary approach. The yacht's spaces offer maximum comfort, understated elegance and a unique on-board experience for cosmopolitan owners attracted by a brand that helped write the history of yachting and is still a force for innovation in the industry today, not least thanks to its collaboration with such illustrious partners."

The design firm founded by Alessandro Pulina, who received a degree in architecture from Florence University in 2003 and worked for years as a style manager at major international boatbuilding brands, has put its signature on projects throughout Europe, the Middle East and the Far East. The firm specializes in prestige projects not only for yachts but also private residences and hotels and is run by a team of interior and product designers from various backgrounds.

"The spaces are characterized by our carefully curated selection of materials and by innovative architectural solutions that balance energy in motion with a sense of spatial harmony," said Alessandro Pulina. "A deliberate contrast between warm materials like bleached oak and cold metal and steel finishes gives the settings a sporty, technological look. The fresh, neutral colour palette enhances the liveability of the interiors and creates sensations of lightness and openness. Every on-board space is designed to optimize the guest experience by balancing comfort and adventure and every element is designed to express responsible luxury based on both aesthetics and wellbeing, with the aim of offering an exclusive yachting experience."

At 44 metres long and 8.6 metres in the beam, Akhir 44 redefines yacht design in this segment with a unique layout accenting symmetry and fluidity. The main deck is fully focused on guests, with a spacious salon and a versatile dining area. Sliding panels allow the formal dining space to be turned into a generous salon, with a large window opening onto a sculptural galley that merges effortlessly into the guest areas and is an invitation to organize unique show cooking experiences. Also on the main deck, an unconventional floating staircase made of metal and glass points up the yacht's innovative layout, acting as both a functional feature and the sculptural centrepiece of the salon. The four guest cabins and the owner's suite on the lower deck feature extensive glazing that reinforces the sense of connection with the water, while at the same time guaranteeing the utmost privacy. The crew of nine, including the captain, have their quarters forward, split between lower and main decks. With three 2,600 HP MTU engines, the yacht will have an average speed of 30 knots, a top speed of 35 knots and a gross tonnage of around 395 tons.
