New Rod Review - FCL Labo UCB 78 Extreme H

by Fish Head 17 Jan 21:43 UTC

FCL Labo UCB-78 Extreme H Heavy Stickbait Rod

The UCB-78 Extreme H is one of the most powerful rods in the FCL Family. It takes a step up in power from the popular MH power models with a higher drag rating of 22kg, while the shorter length and taper make it easier for angler to fight big fish in relative comfort.

Fish Head Tackle YouTube Channel Zenaq RG Guides Explained

Perfect for throwing a variety of stickbaits, the tip section has a nice spring and elastic feel which allows smaller lures to swim easily without tumbling. The mid-section has good support which helps pull larger stickbaits firmly and generate lively darting actions with lures of all sizes. This combination of softer tip and supportive middle lets the angler have excellent control over the stickbait action from the smaller end of its range (80g lures) through to the upper end (180g lures). This rod was originally tested on large bluefin tuna, but has since proven itself on giant GT's and XL reef species all over the world. When loaded on a fish, the tip and most of the middle folds away quickly leaving a strong lifting section which starts around the second guide, firming up further between the first guide and foregrip. The 7'8" Extreme H is a little shorter than the average rod but still casts very well thanks to the rods excellent taper and crisp blank enabling you to get your lures right onto the reef edge!
