NOAA Fisheries extends Gulf Red Grouper Season

Last week, NOAA Fisheries took emergency action yesterday to increase Gulf red grouper catch limits for 2025 based on growth of the red grouper population.
It's likely that recreational harvest of red grouper will remain open for the rest of the year, which will increase angler access and increase economic opportunities for the recreational fishing industry.
