Hyde launches new luggage collection manufactured from roll ends of sail cloth © Hyde Sails
Hyde continually work to improve and reduce our environmental impact and our CEO has headed up a project working to reduce waste destined for landfill. A key area of focus was the roll-ends of sailcloth which are too small for production to use in sails. The outcome has been a new range of high-quality luggage.
We have created a premium, functional range that is bespoke to only a limited number being produced of each colour and material option. Each product has been carefully designed to draw on our sailing DNA, heritage, and manufactured to the high-quality standards as our sails by our skilled team. We are reducing our waste and creating a better standard of products using materials that would otherwise not be cost viable for use in luggage.
The impact of the bags has been considered on every level. Each one is packaged in a re-usable bag made from re-cycled plastic, it's the same material as we use for packaging our kites and wings. Shipping from our production facility in the Philippines has been achieved by filling up space in containers that was otherwise not being utilised.
We have as best possible piggy-backed the shipping on journeys that were already happening to do all we could to minimise the environmental impacts and make sure operations that are already required are achieving the highest efficiency possible.
To celebrate the launch of Hyde Sails new luggage range, 10% discount will be applied on all purchases made up until the end of Southampton Boat Show. The full range is now available to buy from www.hydesails.com/product-category/luggage
