Without winning a race over the weekend Finloe Gaites (MBSC P40) has won the Wihau Shield sailed last weekend - May 4 & 5.

Sailing on Sunday, the light shifty 3 -6 knot Easterly conditions were a contrast to the 10 knot NW of Saturday. It was warm for a winter sailing day on the Tauranga Harbour. The racing was very close with only a point back to Nathan Sopher (CBYC, MBSC P737) and Lauchy Wills (Howick SC P37).

The swap boat series meant the five sailors got to sail each others boats.

The 18 remaining boats continued the regatta for the Secretaries Cup. Once again the winning boat did not win a race. Hugo Smith (Kohi YC P10) sailed a very consistent series with mostly second places on Sunday. Callum Noyer (Kohi YC P993) was second and Hugh Kensington (Kohi YC P3) was third. The top Girl was Phillipa Wiltshire (Glendowie BC P979) in fifth place.
