Dangerous conditions Wed 29 and Thurs 30 South Coast

Why

A trough along the North Coast is expected to move southwards Wednesday and deepen to a low pressure system off the South Coast. This will bring strong to gale force east to north-easterly winds along the coast.

Where

On Wednesday on Batemans and Eden coasts there will be seas of 4 metres and 2.5 to 3 metre swells. Swells will be easterly on Eden coast and southerly mixed with north-easterly on Batemans coast.

On Thursday on the Eden coast there will be seas of 4 metres and 4 metre easterly and southerly swells.

Swell period

Swell period will be about 10 seconds.

Warning

BOM is warning that on these waters on Wednesday and Thursday conditions will be dangerous for rock fishing and crossing bars. With major flooding on some parts of the Illawarra coast there is a risk of dangerous debris in water.
