Targeting pest fish with Mamu Rangers

Biosecurity Queensland recently partnered with the Mamu Aboriginal Corporation Rangers in Innisfail to work on improving habitats and reducing the impacts of pest fish on local aquatic systems.

Both groups attended the tilapia fishing competition at Warrina Lakes to establish connections with local councillors and staff involved in the competition. Pest fishing competitions improve our local waterways and are a great activity for local communities to get involved and informed about pest fish.

There's plenty more competitions coming up with fantastic prizes up for grabs.
