Dangerous fishing conditions update © RFA of NSW

Why

A high pressure system has moved over the southern Tasman Sea Sunday extending a ridge across coastal waters bringing onshore east to southeasterly winds.

Winds will shift east to northeasterly over central and southern coastal waters on Monday and Tuesday as the ridge moves eastwards.

Where

On Monday on the Macquarie, Hunter, Sydney and Illawarra coasts seas are expected to be 1 metre plus southerly swell of 2 to 2.5 metres.

Warning

Despite seas and swells looking quite mild, on all those coasts on Sunday and continuing on Monday, BOM is warning that conditions will be dangerous for rock fishing and crossing bars.

Check local forecasts to get the latest before you go out on the BOM website at www.bom.gov.au/nsw/forecasts/map.shtml.
