After the wind failed to materialise last week, the cadets found themselves with three races, but only three boats due to most of the fleet attending some Class training at Itchenor.

Race 1

It was George Cox - Olliff and Eliza Card leading off the favoured starboard end of the start line. They were leading until they had some unfortunate spinnaker issues on the second downwind and were overtaken by Tom Krailing and Ella Edwards. Tom and Ella managed to continued to extend their lead until the finish. Dom McArdle (standing in for Oscar who was Skiing) and Emily Krailing snatched 2nd place with George and Eliza 3rd.

Race 2

Dom and Emily were first off the line with an amazing first beat. They were first round the windward with Tom / Ella & George / Eliza close behind. Coming up to the leeward mark Dom and Emily realised just how tangled their kite was and retired to the shore to sort it out leaving Tom and Ella in first. It was a close battle between them and George / Eliza for first place. However Tom and Ella just managed to win again.

Race 3

It was a fairly even start with the 3 cadets neck and neck. Tom and Ella were first round the windward with Dom and Emily close behind. It stayed in this order right up until they finished early after just one lap.

It's prize-giving for the Cadets next week as on the last weekend we are all at Grafham for our Residential Training Weekend and we can't wait to catch up with all our friends from the other Sailing Clubs.
