Versatility

It's often the key to a successful day of fishing and TSS Tungsten Putty delivers it in spades. Or, in tiny smidges, if you prefer. Unlike traditional preformed sinkers, putty allows you to dial-in the exact amount of weight you need, where you need it, when you need it.

When you no longer need the weight, it can quickly be removed. Your decision-making will be as agile as the fish you pursue.

"We were excited to debut our Tungsten Putty in the Fly category of the New Product Showcase this July at ICAST 2022", says Blake Rice, CE

A parade of the latest and most innovative fishing gear, the New Product Showcase is the perfect place for TSS Fish to unveil the most versatile, useful, time-saving new fishing product of the year!

"After extensive research, we found that there was a need for Tungsten Putty and decided to add it to our tungsten line up," added Rice.

Perfect for fly fishing, Tungsten Putty won't damage the line when applied like split shot can. Unlike lead, it is nontoxic and because of its weight and density, smaller amounts can be used, providing a more natural presentation.

Useful and versatile for all types of fishing from casting flies to throwing cranks or trolling freshwater, saltwater from bass to big game or hardwater jigging. The putty even helps to properly weight cast nets for maximum performance in great depths or swift waters.

Aside from obvious advantages with soft plastic rigs, putty works well with hard baits too. Extra weight will aid in casting on windy days and can help diving lures attain greater depth. TSS Tungsten Putty can be used to quickly adjust the weight of a jerkbait so that it suspends indefinitely and continues to do so as water temperatures change - normally a time-consuming process that can't easily be undone.

As for the choice of material, "Tungsten works great for jig heads, drop-shot weights, slip sinkers, and every other situation where you use lead," notes Rice.

"Tungsten is much harder than lead. It's 1.7 times denser than lead which gives you more sensitivity. You can feel every piece of the bottom," continues Rice.

Owing to its density, tungsten is more streamlined, allowing easier access to tight spots where fish often hide. In addition to its smaller size at a given weight, nontoxic tungsten also leaves a smaller environmental footprint on our fisheries.

Find TSS Tungsten Putty now at a Bass Pro Shop or Cabelas near you! Available in four colors - red, grey, green, and brown - TSS Tungsten Putty allows weight customization for any water conditions. Cut a small amount, pinch it into place, dip in water and begin fishing!
