12-19 October 2018
Going into the fourth day of racing, the team from Greece, Iordanis Paschalidis & Konstantinos Trigonis maintain their dominance over the fleet by just eight points. Conditions on the course proved challenging for competitors with shifting breeze and long courses.
This championship line-up is a repeat to the European championships where the Australian team, Brett Burvill and Max Puttman finished second, and Spain's Mitch and Ruben Booth finishing third to team Paschalidis/Trigonis. Going into today Puttman/Burvill are in second while the Spaniards are currently hold fourth place.
"Its a very tricky venue, there is land breeze in the morning, which is shifty, but there is some stability to it. As the morning goes on and it heats up, this thermic breeze is trying to fight against the land breeze and then it becomes very unstable," said Mitch Booth, "There is a still a long way to go, we are only half way."
In addition to the two races yesterday, competitors enjoyed a costume party hosted by Sarasota Sailing Squadron last night.
