The Sydney Boat Show preparation and delivery plan is in full swing as we head towards the event on 30 July to 2 August.

In addition to an exhibitor briefing this week, the event delivery team have the marketing program under way. This provides an extensive mix of social, TV, radio, print and outdoor marketing, all designed to showcase the show to target markets in Sydney and beyond. Exhibitors and other members are encouraged to support their marketing program with their own social media channels wherever possible.

Despite ongoing uncertainty surrounding the global fuel crisis, the Marinas26 International Conference and Trade Exhibition has concluded its strongest edition yet, with a record 385 delegates and a record number of exhibitors converging on the Gold Coast. The biennial event — themed Future Smart — brought together marina owners, operators, developers, suppliers and industry leaders worldwide to receive presentations on demographic changes, the economic outlook, the health of the industry sector and how technology is impacting the future of marina operations.

The BIA had a highly visible and well-engaged presence at Marinas26, connecting with marina operators, government and industry partners on key priorities including workforce development and workplace safety. Supported by Workplace Safety Ambassador Paul Chivers, BIA used the event to reinforce its advocacy efforts, highlighting the importance of coordinated industry and government action to address skills shortages, strengthen safety practices and support long-term sector sustainability.

The Australian Superyacht, Commercial Marine and Export Conference (ASMEX) returned to The Langham Gold Coast, following a successful debut at the location in 2025. Now in its fifteenth year, ASMEX delivered a focused afternoon of speaker sessions followed by the Australian Marine Industry Awards Gala Dinner on Tuesday, and a full-day industry tour on Wednesday to Volvo Penta's Headquarters and Training Facility.

The NZMOA has extended the entry deadline for their Awards by one week. The new closing date for Marina of the Year is 15 June. There are categories for marinas, boatyards and associate members. The awards are an opportunity to showcase outstanding facilities, projects, initiatives and innovations across New Zealand's marina and boatyard sector.

Performance has always been central to the DNA of Palm Beach Motor Yachts. Now, the company is taking that philosophy to a new level with the launch of the first Palm Beach GT50 RS, a yacht that combines exhilarating outboard-powered performance with the refinement, sophistication, and craftsmanship expected aboard every Palm Beach Motor Yacht.

Ensign Yachts has been officially appointed as the exclusive Australian partner for Rodman Boats. With a heritage spanning more than 45 years, Rodman Boats has earned global recognition for its robust construction, advanced engineering, and versatile designs. The Spanish builder's portfolio includes a premium range of offshore cruisers, sport fishing vessels, and professional boats, all engineered to perform in challenging sea conditions — making them a natural fit for Australian waterways.

B&G, a global leader in marine electronics and navigation systems, has partnered with Ocean Safety to bring to market a breakthrough in man-overboard (MOB) response technology: the Jon Buoy Smart Release, the first ever Ocean Safety product to integrate directly with a vessel's navigation system. This represents a major leap forward in automated life-saving equipment. For the first time, activation of the MOB function is available on all B&G chart plotters and can immediately and automatically deploy a Jon Buoy Recovery Module, reducing critical response time.

When life takes a turn for the worse for the people who you care about, your first thought is "how can I help?". This is what happened to the close-knit team at Whitsunday Escape on hearing the news that four-year-old Lucy - daughter to well-known Whitsunday boating community members, Cat and Andy Scarrott - has an aggressive form of brain cancer. The bareboat company has launched a raffle for a five-night charter on a brand-new luxury boat. This is no run-of-the mill charter; it is one of the first Seawind 1370s to make landfall in Australia.
