With just over a week to go until the Magic Marine Daffodil Regatta (25-26 April), excitement is really starting to build at Ullswater Yacht Club. What felt like a distant highlight back in February is now right on the horizon—and entries are coming in fast.
Since our last update, we've seen a real surge in entries across multiple fleets. Several classes have now built strong numbers, with others quickly following behind as sailors firm up their plans.
It's particularly encouraging to see new fleets forming and others growing rapidly—proof that the Daffodil Regatta continues to attract a fantastic mix of sailors from across the region and beyond. If you've not yet entered, you certainly won't be alone in making a late decision... but spaces are filling quickly.
Racing Highlights
As a reminder, this year's regatta brings together an exciting mix of classes:
- D-Zero - Northern Championships T2
- RS200 - Daffodil Regatta
- Snipes - Traveller Series
- OK - Traveller Series
- Musto Skiff - UK Circuit (S&N)
- 2000 - Latitude Series Event
With multiple courses planned and a blend of windward-leeward and conventional racing, competitors can expect variety, close competition, and plenty of tactical racing across both days.
Ashore Atmosphere
Off the water, the Daffodil Regatta promises its usual warm welcome and lively atmosphere:
- Live music from Fiona - Music in the Lakes (Saturday evening)
- Shap Fish & Chip Van serving Friday and Saturday nights
- Hearty breakfasts each morning
