Following his win at the 2025 Musto Skiff World Championship, Andrew Tarboton ('Turbo') continued his strong form to clinch the overall UK Circuit title.

Andrew also won the Southern Circuit title, edging out Robert Richardson at the final event, who coincidentally finished second at the Worlds. It's no surprise to see our world number one and two taking the leading positions in the UK Circuit.

This year's UK Circuit featured 14 events: six in the Southern series, six in the Northern series, the Inland Championship in March, and the UK National Championship at Hayling Island Sailing Club in September. Using a weighted scoring system - awarding 100 points to the winner and descending scores based on fleet size - the series counted three circuit events (North or South) plus the non-discardable UK Nationals.

Up in the brisk north, Euan Hurter won the Scottish and Northern Musto Skiff Circuit title, as well as finishing third overall in the UK Circuit. A special mention must go to Steve Robson who competed in 11 of the 14 events - an attendance record certainly not seen before and unlikely to be surpassed anytime soon!

This season we saw 62 individual competitors representing 28 different sailing clubs across the UK. While participation was slightly down compared to 2024, that was expected following the UK Worlds in Weymouth last year. Nevertheless, seven different winners across 14 events highlight how closely fought our fleet has been this series, and what a great average turnout we've had compared to other high-performance classes.

With another well-attended, competitive, and most importantly, fun season complete, it's time to enjoy a few good months of hibernation over the winter before the new season kicks off again. 2026 promises to meet all expectations, with a packed calendar of events hosted at some great sailing clubs and the UK fleet heading to East Lothian Yacht Club (ELYC), just outside Edinburgh, for the UK Nationals in September. Thanks to our UK event coordinators, Tom Scott (South) and Jono Shelley (North), the latest 2026 Musto Skiff UK Circuit calendar is shaping up nicely:

Well done once again to Andrew Tarboton for his impressive season, and I look forward to seeing everyone for the start of the new season in March, if not before then at the Seldén Sailjuice Winter Series!
