The countdown is on for the 2025 Cape 31 European Championship, taking place 16-19 October at the prestigious Real Club Náutico de Palma (RCNP). With a record 25 boats entered from 13 nations, this will be the largest and most competitive Europeans in class history.

Stig and Flying Jenny Lead the Stories of 2025

It's been a standout year for Alessandro Rombelli's Stig, who claimed both Italian event victories and secured the overall Mediterranean Circuit title. Arriving in Palma in top form, the Italian team will be looking to add the European crown to their 2025 success.

From across the Atlantic, Sandy Askew's Flying Jenny arrives as 2025 UK Season Champion, having topped one of the most competitive national circuits in the class. With their UK campaign complete, the focus now shifts to Palma, where Askew and crew are serious contenders for the European title.

La Pericolosa Defends the Crown

Reigning champion La Pericolosa (GER) returns to defend the trophy they won in Sanremo last year. With the depth of the fleet at an all-time high, repeating the feat will be harder than ever.

A Truly International Line-Up

  • The 25-boat entry list showcases 13 nations, underlining the Cape 31's rapid global growth.

  • The UK fleet is the largest with 7 boats entered, sending heavyweight teams including Jiraffe, Khumbu, Akheilos, Black Seal, and more.

  • Germany leads the continental charge with 4 entries, including La Pericolosa, Kalantis, MeerBlick, and halbtrocken 3.1.

  • The USA sends a powerful trio: Flying Jenny, Pacific Yankee, and Warrior Won.

  • Other nations represented include Ireland, Monaco, Isle of Man, Netherlands, Turkey, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Italy, and Portugal.

Among the standout challengers are:

  • Pacific Yankee - fresh off a Round 5 win in Palma Bay

  • ShotGunn - 2024 Europeans podium finishers

  • Nikolai Burkart (Gecko d'or) - new Cape 31 owner after a breakthrough Porquerolles win

  • Stella Maris (AUT) & Kalantis (GER) - both podium finishers at the Palma Arenal event
Corinthian Contest Heats Up

The Corinthian (amateur/1 professional) division is equally competitive, with proven winners including Motions (NED), Terrible Joy (MON), and Squirt (GBR) all vying for the European Corinthian crown.

Palma: The Perfect Stage

With its renowned race management, iconic Bay conditions, and legendary hospitality, RCNP is the ideal venue to host the Cape 31 Europeans.

"We're so excited to finally reach the start line in Palma after more than a year of planning. With a record 25 entries from 13 nations, this is a milestone moment for the class, and RCNP is the perfect host for an unforgettable championship," said Tor Tomlinson Cheney, Cape 31 Class Manager.
