The Cruising Association (CA), in partnership with Imray, is proud to announce the release of the 2026 edition of its renowned Cruising Almanac - the indispensable companion for sailors cruising Northwest European waters.

First published in 1909, the Cruising Almanac combines the first-hand knowledge of the CA's expert editorial team and its Regulatory & Technical Services (RATS) Group with Imray's preeminent cartography. The Cruising Almanac remains the trusted, on-board reference for safe and informed cruising.

What's new for 2026

The 2026 edition features significantly improved plans for the River Medway, a new plan for Walls, Shetland (Chapter 4 Scotland East Coast) has been added and even more web links to support trip planning. The 'Essential Cruising Information' chapter features the latest guidance on the forthcoming EES and ETIAS systems for travel between the UK and EU/Schengen area. The CA's monthly corrections service will include updates on country specific details.

Your authoritative guide to NW Europe

The Cruising Almanac covers the Shetlands in the north around the coasts and islands of Great Britain and Ireland; on the continent, from Bergen into the approaches to the Baltic and right down to Gibraltar. It serves as a comprehensive guide for planning safe passage in and out of harbours, rivers and anchorages, as well as discovering new waters.

The Cruising Almanac features:

  • Hundreds of full-colour detailed chartlets integrated with the text for quick reference.
  • Chartlets incorporate the latest hydrographic data and insights from local regional experts, providing sailors with the most accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Detailed pilotage, tidal data and prominently highlighted passage notes.
  • Reader-friendly colour coding and a clear layout designed for use at sea.
  • The latest entry regulations and EU customs formalities.
  • Ports of entry are prominently listed at the start of each relevant chapter, making it easy to find key entry points.
  • A supplementary booklet providing tide tables for 47 standard ports.
Published in a convenient A4 size, the Cruising Almanac is designed for easy reference even in tough sea conditions.

Monthly updates

Monthly corrections ensure the Cruising Almanac remains accurate, reflecting Notices to Mariners, buoyage changes, travel regulations and other developments. Corrections are available via the CA's free subscription service.

Where to buy

The 2026 Cruising Almanac is available now from the CA shop at £28 for members / £38 for non-members (RRP £44.50), plus postage. Copies can also be purchased in-person from the CA Stand H522 at the Southampton International Boat Show, 19-28 September 2025 (where you can save on postage), at CA House in London and directly from Imray.
