As part of its 150th Anniversary celebrations, the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) is launching a brand-new 12-part podcast series with the first episode live on Tuesday 23 September.

Titled 'The RYA 150 Podcast', episodes feature in depth conversations - bringing together the people, places and standout moments that have defined boating over the last century and a half.

From legendary Olympic victories to the devastating storm that reshaped sailing safety, from pioneering women breaking barriers to the cutting-edge technologies transforming the sport - the series dives into stories that have shaped sailing and inspired generations.

Hosted by record-breaking British yachtswoman Dee Caffari MBE, each episode features powerful conversations, behind-the-scenes insights and first-hand accounts you won't hear anywhere else.

Among the conversations, topics include:

  • Olympic Sailing - Triumphs, defining moments and the evolution of Team GB at the world's greatest sporting stage.

  • The 1979 Fastnet - Revisiting one of the darkest, yet most transformative, events in sailing history.

  • Women in Sailing - Celebrating resilience, record-breakers and game-changers driving progress for the sport.

  • Incredible Careers - How sailing, boating and RYA qualifications have launched extraordinary lives on and around the water.

  • Britain's Best Waters - Sailors reveal their favourite destinations, secret spots and unforgettable experiences in UK waters.

  • Technology & The Future - From foiling to AI and eco-innovation, exploring what lies ahead for sailing.

A new episode will be available every week via all major podcast platforms - including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon Music - as well as on the RYA's website at www.rya.org.uk/about-us/150-years/150-podcast. Full video episodes will also be released on YouTube, with weekly highlight reels shared across the RYA's social channels.
