This years Regatta Illes Balearic Clàssics took place from Wednesday, August 13th to Sunday, August 17th, the event brought together 33 classic sailing yachts. Each yacht was invited to take part in a spirited competition—not just on the water, but in a united effort to protect the planet Meter x meter. Each participating yacht was able to protect M2's of nature through the Uon.Earth app and support the team to win the Sail4Earth "You on Earth" Trophy.

The winner of the Sail4Earth "You on Earth" Trophy is Classic Sailing Yacht Tuiga, a 15 Metre Class (15M IR), competing in and also winning this years Big Boat Class. Tuiga was built in 1909 by the prestigious Scottish shipyard of William Fife III. Yacht Club de Monaco, with the support of Prince Albert, adopted Tuiga as its flagship vessel, cementing her status as one of the great icons of international classic sailing.

A Race for Earth

As the oceans face mounting environmental threats—from coral reef destruction to the loss of natural habitats and biodiversity—Sail4Earth offers a new kind of challenge: one that blends passion for sailing with real-world conservation impact. The initiative invites sailors to actively participate in nature protection Meter x meter through the Uon.Earth app supporting the Union of Nature Foundation (UON).

What Is the Coopetition?

This pioneering coopetition by Sail4Earth—is a mix of cooperation and competition—it encourages each yacht crew to create a digital "uon collectible" via the Uon.Earth app, symbolizing a geocoded square meter of protected nature. The more square meters protected and promoted, the higher each team ranks. Sailors are encouraged to share their efforts across social media, inspiring their communities to join the movement.

Tuiga, the yacht with the most protected square meters during the regatta has been awarded the first-ever "Sail4Earth - You on Earth Trophy" during the prize-giving ceremony on Sunday, August 17th. Presented by Chairman and co-founder of Sail4Earth, Willem Jan Landman and Marketing Director Sandra van der Plassche of Club de Mar Mallorca.

Flying the EarthFlag

All participating yachts proudly sailed under the EarthFlag, the emblem of Sail4Earth, handed over to the team of Tuiga during the prize-giving ceremony. Symbolizing unity and environmental stewardship, the EarthFlag represents our shared commitment to the planet. The EarthFlag is 100% hemp made by Hemptex, fully bio-based materials—reflecting the campaign's core values of sustainability and ecological respect.

Superyacht Doña Francisca Joins the Cause

Adding a modern touch to this celebration of classic yachts, the 172-foot carbon schooner Doña Francisca, designed by Javier Soto Acebal, was moored at the Race Village throughout the event. Visiting from Uruguay, the superyacht served as a floating venue for special events and to accompany the fleet at key moments during the races. The team of Tuiga was welcomed after the prize-giving onboard by Willem Jan and Captain Andres Lopez.
