The 26th edition of the Western Circuit Sailing Regatta (WCSR) concluded with resounding success, continuing the event's proud legacy. Co-hosted by Raffles Marina and Singapore Management University (SMU), the SMU-RM WCSR 2025 delivered a thrilling showcase of competitive sailing alongside a vibrant celebration of camaraderie and community.
Since its inception, the WCSR has stood as one of Singapore's premier sailing events, bringing together sailors of diverse backgrounds and skill levels. This year's edition once again set the stage for exhilarating races across multiple keelboat classes, reaffirming the regatta's reputation for sailing excellence.
On 16 and 17 August, sailors competed in 6 keelboat classes, including 6 IRCs, 4 PYs, 4 J24s, 8 SB20s, and 9 Hansas with a total of 139 participants. Over the course of the regatta, crews displayed exceptional skill, tactical prowess, and sportsmanship, making this year's event a memorable spectacle for all involved.
In addition to fierce competition on the water, the SMU-RM Western Circuit Sailing Regatta maintained its strong commitment to community engagement and giving back. At the gala dinner, the regatta celebrated both sporting achievement and philanthropy, raising a total of S$10,780 in support of Singapore Disability Sports Council's Sailability programme (SDSC). The donation cheque was presented by 2 SMU representatives to Ms Kelly Fan, Executive Director of the Singapore Disability Sports Council.
The 26th SMU-RM Western Circuit Sailing Regatta stands as a testament to the sport's enduring appeal, uniting the sailing community while making a positive social impact.
