With qualification wrapped and the fleet now split into six groups—Gold, Silver, Bronze, Emerald, Purple, and White—Day 4 of the 29er Europeans kicked off with early optimism and an earlier-than-usual launch in pursuit of the morning breeze.

Bronze fleet steals the spotlight

Conditions initially looked promising, but the wind held only briefly. Only the Bronze Fleet managed to complete one race, sailing right on the edge of a fading breeze. The win in that race went to AUS 2247 - Alice and Klara Travlos, who navigated the light conditions to come out on top.

Storms and a swift return

For the remaining fleets, races were started but eventually abandoned. After a lunch break ashore, all boats were sent back out around 13:30—only to be met by a fast-approaching storm. Thunder and lightning over Lake Garda forced a swift and safe return to harbor, and the remainder of the day's racing was cancelled.

Due to this the leaderboard has remained unchanged to Day 3.

Results after Day 4: (top ten)

  1. Le Goff / Vidor (France) - 6 pts
  2. Huber / Berger (Switzerland) - 7 pts
  3. Huet Des Aunay / Gresset (France) - 8 pts
  4. Mostini / Allain (France) - 8 pts
  5. Holt / Forslund (Norway) - 10 pts
  6. Hamm / Hamm (Germany) - 11 pts
  7. Meacham / Leith (New Zealand) - 12 pts
  8. Leech / Mason (New Zealand) - 13 pts
  9. Morea / Guillemot (France) - 13 pts
  10. Puchowska / Dampc (Poland) - 16 pts

Despite the lack of results, the energy stayed high onshore. Sailors made the most of an unplanned lay day—resting, recharging, and enjoying the regatta atmosphere with teammates and new friends.

With two days left and everything still to play for, the fleets look ahead to tomorrow's forecast—and the final fight for the podium.
