Bendigo Fishing Report
Campaspe River
The Campaspe is still sitting around 1.79m, with flow rates back at 150ML/day.
Surface lures are still well worth a go early in the morning and toward sunset, with fisho Cheyne proving it by landing a super healthy cod on the surface—showing it's still worth getting the old surface lure out.
The Bassman Codman spinnerbait remains our top pick during the day—get it in tight to the snags and work it back slowly.
If you're leaning towards bait fishing, chicken and grubs continue to perform well, especially in the deeper holes or on the outside bends. With flows fluctuating a bit, don't forget to bring a range of sinker sizes.
Loddon River
The Loddon is currently flowing at 339ML/day, but it's been jumping around with the on-and-off rain we've been getting around the Bendigo region. River levels are approximately 0.43m.
Fishing here continues in a similar pattern to the Campaspe. A few fishos a little upstream from Serpentine have landed some quality cod on spinnerbaits and trolled hardbodies, although we haven't had many reports from the Bridgewater area this week.
Bait fishing? Stick to grubs or chicken in the deeper pockets of the river. For lures, try spinnerbaits and medium-diving hardbody lures in the 9-12ft range.
Goulburn River
The cold July mornings haven't scared off the crayfish hunters! We had a quiet start to the season at the Bendigo store, but over the past week we've been flying through nets, with many fishos and families picking them up in hopes of a sunny weekend (good luck out there!).
For your nets, the Murray Cray love chicken, pumpkin, carp carcass, and even dog food!
We're also reminding everyone to return any females with berry (eggs under their tail) immediately and to handle all crayfish carefully. If you're heading out, don't forget your cray measure (we have them free in-store) and a valid Victorian fishing license.
Cairn Curran Reservoir
Cairn Curran is currently sitting at 38.56%. We've heard reports this week of anglers landing some decent cod below the weir on spinnerbaits, but not much action up on the reservoir itself.
Our recommendation if you're heading out on the reservoir is to try trolling hardbodies in the 6-8m range. If you're below the wall on the Loddon River, try slow-rolling spinnerbaits and even throwing a surface lure around those golden hours.

Lake Eppalock
Since our last Bendigo report, Lake Eppalock has dropped to 56.55% capacity—down nearly 1% from our previous update.
A few fishos have been getting out and landing the usual handful of redfin, but the cold and windy days have kept most anglers indoors. Those who did head out found the best success jigging soft plastics and vibe lures in 8-10m of water.
If you're planning a trip, try throwing around a few Strike Tiger soft plastics, or even troll with some purple or green/gold RMG Poltergeist lures in the 8m+ size range.
Shepparton Fishing Report
Crayfish Going Crazy on the Goulburn!
We've seen heaps of crayfish getting caught this week in the Goulburn River, especially between Shepparton and Lake Nagambie, and also above Lake Nagambie. If you've been thinking about getting out for a crack - this weekend is prime time!
Heads up: There's a rise coming down the river in the next few days, so make the most of it before water levels change.
Channel Fishing Quiet
Unfortunately, the channels are down and pretty quiet at the moment. Not much action happening there.
Yellowbelly on the Bite at Lake Nillahcootie
Lake Nillahcootie is firing for good-sized yellowbelly off the bank. Anglers are getting great results using shrimp or soft plastics.
Waranga Basin Redfin Report
The redfin bite has been steady at Waranga Basin, despite the cold. Fishos have been doing well bumping soft plastics along the bottom. Once you're on a school, you're in with a shot at plenty of fish, including some solid-size redfin mixed in with the smaller ones.
Goulburn River
Locally, the Goulburn River around Shepparton and downstream through Bunbartha has been fishing well. Troll with Old Mate lures or Codger lures - they've been doing the trick.
Again, now's the time to get out, before the river rise comes through and changes the conditions.
