The WASZP Class is entering an exciting new chapter in North America. FOILFAST, a newly established company based in Annapolis, Maryland, has been named the exclusive importer and distributor of the WASZP foiling dinghy and its spare parts across all of North America.

This transition marks a new era for the WASZP in North America. As FOILFAST steps into the role of exclusive distributor, the class builds on a strong foundation laid by the efforts of Clay Johnson at Colie Sails and Trevor Parekh at PPSP. Their early leadership and commitment helped introduce the WASZP to sailors across the continent and established the community infrastructure that continues to support its growth. FOILFAST is honored to carry that legacy forward and further expand access, support, and excitement for dinghy foiling in the years ahead.

"For young sailors coming out of traditional youth boats like the Optimist and Club 420, dinghy foiling is the future," said FOILFAST. "The WASZP offers an accessible and exhilarating pathway to the kind of skills that define the highest levels of the sport—whether it's SailGP, the America's Cup, or Olympic foiling classes. FOILFAST is here to ensure that the pathway is well-supported throughout the continent."

"The WASZP dinghy foiler and fleet racing represent a critical evolution in youth sailing development. Mastering these disciplines builds balance, speed control, tactical awareness, and adaptability—skills that directly translate to success in high-performance classes and professional circuits. As Olympic and professional sailing increasingly embrace foiling, young sailors who train in the WASZP are gaining a head start in the skills and mindset needed to compete at the sport's highest levels."

"From the beginning, the WASZP was designed to be a truly global class—accessible, exhilarating, and capable of transforming how young sailors engage with high-performance foiling," said Andrew "Amac" McDougall, designer of the WASZP and founder of KA Sail. "Bringing on FOILFAST as our exclusive North American distributor is a critical step in that mission. With Nicholas Draper's deep connection to the class and a clear vision for sustainable growth, we're confident that FOILFAST will help deliver the infrastructure, energy, and community support needed to take WASZP sailing in North America to the next level."

Since its debut in 2016, the WASZP has sparked incredible growth across North America. What began as a small group of foiling enthusiasts has evolved into a dynamic and competitive class with active fleets throughout the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. Thanks to grassroots efforts like Learn-to-Foil clinics, regional regattas, and national events, a new generation of sailors is making waves on the international stage. Now, the class is hitting an exciting milestone: for the first time ever, the WASZP Games are coming to North America. Set for March 23-29, 2026, the event will take place in Pensacola, Florida, in partnership with the Pensacola Yacht Club—one of the fastest-growing centers for high-performance sailing. With consistent breeze, a vibrant sailing scene, and top-notch facilities, Pensacola is the perfect backdrop for this world-class regatta, which is expected to welcome over 100 competitors from around the globe.
