Solaris Cup 2025 Preview: Over 80 yachts set to gather in Porto Rotondo for the 11th edition

by Solaris Cup 7 May 07:30 UTC 29 May - 1 June 2025

The prestigious Solaris Cup returns for its 11th edition from May 29 to June 1, 2025, bringing together more than 80 Solaris yachts in the stunning setting of Porto Rotondo, Sardinia. Following the record-breaking participation of 102 yachts in 2024, the Solaris Cup continues to grow, reaffirming its reputation as one of the most anticipated gatherings in the sailing world.

"This event has become the ideal way for our owners to kick off the summer season," said the Vice President of Solaris Group, Federico Gambini. "The format perfectly balances relaxed social gatherings and high-quality racing. While we have strengthened the sporting side with ORC ratings and a top-tier race committee, we remain committed to the spirit of 'family & friends' that defines Solaris."

A Celebratory Gathering for the Solaris Family

The event will officially open on Thursday, May 29, with yacht arrivals, registration, and a welcome cocktail on the marina docks. Hosted with the support of the Yacht Club Porto Rotondo, the marina will be transformed into the Solaris Village, complete with sponsor lounges, technical support, and social areas.

Racing begins Friday, May 30, with a skipper briefing at 10:00 a.m., followed by the first regatta along the traditional butterfly course, navigating the islets of the Gulf of Porto Rotondo. The fleet is divided into three groups:

  • Group A: Solaris yachts up to 48 feet
  • Group B: Yachts up to 58 feet
  • Group C: Yachts over 60 feet

Friday evening will feature the exclusive owners' dinner at the Hotel Sporting. At the same time, Saturday includes a second day of racing, the awards ceremony, and the highly anticipated crew party, an event that annually welcomes nearly 1,000 participants.

An International Showcase of Performance and Elegance

This year's fleet spans 37 to 111 feet, including the flagship Cefea. The Solaris 50 is the most represented model, with 18 yachts registered. Notable entries include the legendary Solaris 48 One Bluette (Lucio Carli) and the newly launched Solaris 50 Emaliann 2, delivered just weeks ago in Aquileia.

The event is a truly global affair, featuring entries from 17 countries, including:

Chile: Solaris 50 Stay High, Solaris 58 Poseidon 2
Hong Kong: Solaris 47 Saphira
USA: Solaris 58 Bolero

Current registrations include 29 yachts in Group A, 37 in Group B, and 13 in Group C.
