As the peak body for recreational fishing, VRFish is calling on all Victorian recreational fishers to show your support for Fisheries Officers by signing the following Parliamentary Petition.

In February 2025, the Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA) presented an organisational reform proposal which included the mass retrenchment of fisheries officers.

VRFish has written the the Minister for Outdoor Recreation and VRFish acknowledged the current requirement for budgetary savings but does not support the VFA proposed reforms achieved through the mass retrenchment of authorised fisheries officers.

As we continue to advocate against the proposal, we are asking all Victorian recfishers to sign the Parliamentary Petition to show your support for Fisheries Officers and ensure your voice is heard. It will take less than a minute to sign.

Any Victorian resident can sign the petition. This includes people under 18 years of age.
