Everything Electric Sydney 2025, the world's largest event dedicated to electric vehicles, home energy, and sustainable innovation, created a powerful platform for marine electrification, bringing electric boats and marine technology into the spotlight like never before.

Among tens of thousands of visitors along with politicians and industry leaders, Carbon Yachts made a resounding impact, proving that the electrification of waterborne transport is not only possible but already redefining the way people think about life on the water.

For too long, the marine industry has lagged behind the automotive sector in electrification, but that is rapidly changing. Everything Electric Sydney provided the ideal stage to demonstrate how boating is not just catching up but leveraging advancements from the EV world to drive its own innovations.

A perfect example of this is the Candela C-8, which utilises the same Polestar battery technology found in high-performance electric cars, enabling its revolutionary hydrofoiling capabilities. By pairing automotive-grade battery technology with Candela's advanced hydrofoiling system, the C-8 consumes 80% less energy than conventional boats, delivering a smooth, silent, and highly efficient ride. Beyond leisure boating, Candela's hydrofoiling technology has the capability to revolutionise waterborne transport on a larger scale, making ferries and other commercial vessels vastly more efficient and cost-effective.

Candela's APAC CEO, Björn Antonsson who was in attendance, spoke about how this shift is reshaping waterborne transport:

"This show confirmed that we are no longer just talking about the future—electric waterborne transport is here, and it's more advanced than most people realise. The automotive industry led the way in electrification, and now marine transport is leveraging those advancements while adding breakthroughs of its own. The Candela C-8, powered by a Polestar battery, is the perfect example of this synergy—bringing EV technology to the water in a way that redefines not just boats, but waterborne transport as a whole. Hydrofoiling opens up enormous potential beyond just leisure boats, allowing us to rethink efficiency and performance on a much broader scale."

Everything Electric Sydney gave Carbon Yachts the perfect platform to showcase the brands leading this transformation while also introducing new electric marine innovations to a broader audience. The event saw the Australian premiere of Awake Boards, featuring the RÄVIK 3, RÄVIK S, and the BRABUS x Awake jetboards, bringing high-performance, emission-free excitement to the water. The AST 340 Revolve, a lightweight carbon-fibre electric tender, also made its first Australian appearance, demonstrating how yacht tenders can now be both cutting-edge and sustainable.

Chris Hrones of Carbon Yachts reflected on the event's success:

"Everything Electric Sydney was the perfect platform to promote the brands leading the charge in marine electrification while introducing new technologies to new audiences. The reception Candela, Mercury Avator, Awake, and ASTenders received far exceeded anything we've experienced at a traditional boat show. This wasn't just about boaters—it was about showing a wider audience that electric marine technology is here, it's viable, and it's already changing the game."

Mercury Marine's Avator electric outboards also attracted strong interest throughout the event, reinforcing the increasing demand for electric propulsion in recreational boating. Darren Whitfield of Mercury Marine noted:

"The reception to the Avator range was incredible. People are recognising that electric outboards aren't just about sustainability—they offer real, long-term benefits. Lower running costs, virtually no maintenance, ease of use, and instant torque all make them a better experience for boaters. And beyond performance, the simple advantages—no petrol fumes, no risk of oil spills, no noise—are what really make electric outboards a game-changer for so many people."

Everything Electric Sydney 2025 marked a turning point for electric boating, putting it firmly in the spotlight alongside electric cars, home energy, and next-generation mobility solutions. The message from the event was clear: electric propulsion is no longer a niche concept in the marine industry—it's the inevitable future. Carbon Yachts remains at the forefront of this transformation, proving that sustainability and performance don't have to be trade-offs; they can work together to create a new standard for life on the water.
