Duncan and Emma at Sailingfast have started 2025 in the same way as they finished 2024, supporting sailors up and down the country to ensure they spend more time on the water.
This past weekend saw them at the WASZP End of Seasons at Rutland Sailing Club, and while the wind wasn't playing ball, there were still twenty enthusiastic sailors on the water in lowriding mode.
It's a hugely exciting time for the WASZP class, with the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy hosting the WASZP Games in July, and it only took 24 hours for the entries to blast through 200, with far more expected. It's a huge venue, with superb race areas in Portland Harbour and Weymouth Bay on the doorstep, making this one of the highlights of the British summer.
The next container of WASZPs is arriving late February for them to unpack and rig up for their eager new owners.
Next weekend sees them at Helensburgh for an RS Feva Academy event. Duncan and Emma will have the dual role of supporting the sailors and their own kids as they continue their sailing journeys. The Hepplewhite family literally live and breathe sailing!
Then it's over to Northern Ireland for the Celtic Cup, with 6 Toppers and 6 ILCAs representing Scotland at this inter-nation event to be held at Delamont Outdoor Education Centre, Downpatrick.
Be sure to drop by the Sailingfast stand number 168 at the RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show on 22nd & 23rd February at the Farnborough International Exhibition Centre to discuss your sailing season!
