World Sailing is delighted to announce that the 2025 Women's Match Racing World Championship will be held at the Chicago Yacht Club's Belmont Station from 16-20 September 2025.

The event will feature up to 12 teams on board the Tom28 - a 28ft one design boat engineered for match racing. The Notice of Race has been published and is available to view now on the World Sailing website.

Jim Morris, World Sailing Director of Events, said, "The Women's Match Racing World Championship is an exciting and important event in the World Sailing calendar, bringing together talented teams of female sailors from around the world for an exhibition of tactical and technical expertise.

"As we continue to grow the sport, the Chicago Yacht Club, host of the 2024 US Women's Match Racing Championship and an annual exciting stop on the World Match Racing Tour, will be an excellent venue for the 2025 edition which promises to be an exceptional showcase for women's sailing and the match racing format."

Chicago Yacht Club Member and Regatta Chair, Jen Dorsch, added, "Chicago has a long tradition of supporting and fostering match racing on the fresh waters of Lake Michigan. Chicago Yacht Club is honored to continue that tradition by being selected to host the Women's Match Race World Championship during our 150th Anniversary celebration. We look forward to the camaraderie and competition of the top women sailors from around the world as we crown the 2025 world champion."

Beka Schiff and Janel Martin, US Sailing Match Racing Championship Committee - Women's Event Co-Chairs, added, "As members of the US Sailing Match Racing Committee, we have been working hard to secure hosts, connect new teams with events, and promote a welcoming culture for women's match racing in the United States.

"We can't wait to invite the top women's match racing teams to the US this coming September 2025 for the World Sailing Women's Match Race World Championship."

The 2024 Women's Match Racing World Championship took place from 29 November to 2 December at the Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina where the Normandy Elite Team skippered by Pauline Courtois recorded 21 wins from 21 matches to secure the title ahead of Team 2.0 from New Zealand.
