An injured Conrad Colman, a US/New Zealand entry Vendee Globe non-stop, single handed around the world race, has been caught in the centre of a Low in the Southern Ocean and faces another 12 hours or so in winds predicted to gust over 46kts, and likely to be more.

Currently he is passing to the north of the Kerguelen Islands, and is in 28th position in the 38 boat , which started in early November from the Western Coast of France.

Colman has suffered a superficial injury to his eye and left hand side of his face when he getting about the boat in a very awkward seaway and motion.

A facial split below his left eye has been glued up to allow it to heal.

The Predictwind weather routing for Colman sailing, MS Amlin, shows that he will still be in storm conditions with winds gusting 46kts, but probably more. Seas are predicted to be 8metres, but Colman's shore team report 10 metre seas.
