The final day of the 2024 FPT Naxos saw the new European Champions crowned at Flisvos Watersports 1974. After a week of relentlessly good freestyle windsurfing conditions, Maaike Huvermann (Severne/Maui Ultra Fins) and Lennart Neubauer (Starboard/Severne/Maui Ultra Fins) come out on top. With many more exciting stories, the event ended the 2024 season with a bang.

The event made a comeback to Naxos, after last being here in 2009. The location has a lot of history for the sport, and has been welcoming windsurfers for many years. On the penultimate day, the participants took the chance to go and explore the town and thank the local supporters of this fantastic event.

After getting to know Naxos, the riders also contributed to it's environment. A beach cleanup was held with countless bags of trash removed from the beach and nearby dunes.

The last point on the agenda was the official prize-giving ceremony. The local community of Naxos once again came together in great numbers to celebrate their hometown hero and the sport of windsurfing. As this is the season finale, the official European Champions were announced. First up, the Women's European Freestyle podium: Maaike Huvermann, Lisa Kloster and Elena Dominick.

For the men's podium, the crowds went wild. Raised amongst these very people, Lennart Neubauer was ushered onto the top spot of the podium. Joining him were, in second, Yentel Caers, and in third, Steven Van Broeckhoven.

Next to the European title, the Freestyle Pro Tour titles were also announced. Including the Cape Town event that kicked off the season meant that the podiums were shuffled around. The big news? Lisa Kloster becomes the 2024 Freestyle Pro Tour Champion!

In the men, Jacopo Testa boosts himself into second thanks to his victory in Cape Town. Lennart Neubauer stays on top and Yentel Caers is in third.

Want to recap all the action that lead to these podiums?

That's it for the 2024 Freestyle Pro Tour Naxos! The tour has been ecstatic to finish the season in this fashion, celebrating the champions of the sport with such style. The season is not fully over yet though, with the Freestyle Pro Tour Awards still on the agenda. Stay tuned!
