Our Journey

Our journey began in Auckland with the launch of the new Haines Hunter OP725, the first amphibious boat from our lineup. Since then, we've travelled to many beautiful locations, experiencing exceptional engagement and interest in this new model.

The Overlander Road Trip has taken us through the breathtaking Marlborough Sounds, a region that has always been a favourite among Haines Hunter owners. This weekend, we'll be back in the Marlborough Sounds for a full two-day demo event featuring six new Haines Hunter models, highlighting the versatility and performance that makes our boats a standout choice.

After exploring the Sounds and staying at various camping spots, our trip led us to Kaikoura, where we enjoyed some fishing and caught the Kaikoura Hop car show—an incredible local event! We continued our adventure through Gore Bay, Motunau Beach, and Akaroa, stopping for demonstrations along the way.

Despite a winter storm at Lake Tekapo that brought heavy snow, our spirits remained high. We managed to pop up the Macaulay River and even spotted a Thar! The road took us next to Queenstown, where we were privileged to host a demo day with Brad, Amanda, and the Inders Marineland crew. We had an amazing Saturday, showcasing three more Haines Hunter boats in the stunning beauty of the region.

From Queenstown, we journeyed to Te Anau, where we had great access to the water. We took our boat into town to gather supplies for our adventure into the spectacular Milford Sound. The scenery there is simply indescribable! While we tried our luck with Blue Nose and crayfish, we caught a variety of rock perch, sharks, and silverskins instead.

Due to unexpected storms, we found ourselves delayed in Milford, but luckily, the Milford Lodge had space for us. It was a memorable experience that we highly recommend for all adventure seekers!

As we wrap up our travels and head back to the west coast, we look forward to seeing many of you at Bays Boating in Motueka this Thursday and Friday! Don't miss out on experiencing the amazing capabilities of the Haines Hunter models.
