On the third day of the High Performance Grand Prix, as per the weather forecast, the races started earlier, with the warning signal raised on the start boats at 9 am.
However, the pleasant sailing weather in the morning didn't last long, as the wind started to decrease during the first races, and later almost died down completely. The Nacra 15 class managed to complete the planned 4 races, and they returned to shore around 12:30 pm. For the 29er class, a shore postponement was ordered. At 3 pm, the AP signal with the Alpha flag marked the end of the day's events. At 2 pm, we welcomed the teams with a pasta party. Tomorrow, the race committee has scheduled the first warning signal for 8:30 am, on both courses.
Despite the organizing committee's best efforts, only two races could be completed for the 29er class for the third day of the Hungarian 29er EuroCup. However the sailors and organisers were happy that two solid races were completed in the tricky conditions.
With the shifting wind, which turned south and began to dissipate, the course was relocated for the third race, but despite multiple course adjustments and shortenings, the race had to be abandoned due to the wind dropping to 3 knots.
Today, 2024 Women's World Champions Boróka Fehér and Szonja Fehér found their form, winning both races, which put them in second place, just three points behind the leading pair overall. At the end of the day, the duo of Emília Juhász and Boróka Lacza continues to lead, with Soma Kis-Szölgyémi and András Juhász in third place.
