Some classes complete their Paris2024 Olympic Sailing Regatta today, others start, and others continue.

The program for Day 5 called for Opening round of races for the Mens and Womens Dinghy (ILCA7 and ILCA 6 respectively - formerly known as the Laser and Laser Radial).

The Main Event today was to be the sailing of the Medal races for the Mens and Womens SkiffFollowing are the Medal races for the Mens Skiff and Womens Skiff (49er and 49erFX respectively). However the wind was not co-operative - although it did kick in nicely for the second start, and stayed until the end of Leg 2, when it shut off completely as the leaders rounded Mark 2.

The Notice of race prescribes that: "No warning signal for a medal race or medal series race will be made after 1737."

Officials made the decision not to race 10 minutes before that time.

The Mens and Womens Windsurfing continues albeit on a reduced program.

Racing:

The Mens Dinghy has had two races completed in light winds. Peru's Stephano Peschiera leads from Australia's Matt Wearn. The Peruvian was the only sailor in the 43 boat fleet who did not score at least on double digit placing.

The Womens Dinghy sailed one race and had the second postponed. Louise Cerevera (FRA) won from China's Min Gu, with defending Olympic champion Anne-Marie Rindom (DEN) in 7th place.

The Womens Windsurfer is currently racing, when Sail-World NZ closed for the night. However GBR's Emma Wilson continued her run of success, scoring a first and a third, to go to a 43pt lead.

The Mens Windsurfer sailed three races. Grae Morris (AUS) placed 4,7,8 and enjoys a 3pt lead over Tom Reuveny (ISR). Josh Armit (NZL) is third overall three points further back.

The Mens Skiff had their Medal race abandoned on Leg 2 just before Mark 2, on the first occasion, and just after Leg 2 on the second abandonment. The wind just suddenly shut down in both races. The Race Committee moved the course between the first and second races, and looked to have a good breeze for the second start. The race will have to be resailed, followed by the Womens Skiff Medal race.
