We are just days away from the start of Craftinsure Bass Week 2024. Currently 199 boats are entered, will you be the 200th? The ILCAs are top of the entry list, with 34 boats entered.

The Flying Fifteens are next with 21 boats on the start line including the annual pilgrimage from Blackpool & Fleetwood Yacht Club. Solos and RS200s are next with 16 entries each. Further down the list are Phantoms (it's their Northerns on the final weekend), RS400s, GP14s, and Ents who are all approaching double figures.

Craftinsure Bass Week is a classic family regatta. 9 days racing with 9 class/handicap starts, a mix of mini-series, one off races and 2 pursuits. The flexible schedule offers opportunity for those looking for a gentler week to take the odd morning or afternoon off, or to swap boats and sail with friends and family when conditions allow. Monday morning is set aside for a novice race and Friday afternoon will see a mass start for juniors, woman and those over 60 years of age. Off the water, a busy social schedule includes live music, quiz night, bonkers bingo, children's disco, craft activities and a final Olympic themed disco.

For the 3rd consecutive year, Craftinsure are the title sponsor of Bass Week. Craftinsure is owned by boat owners who set up the business nearly 20 years ago and now insure over 25,000 boats. Bass Week is renowned for generous prizes which often go beyond the usual top 3, this is only possible thanks to our sponsors. Each race is sponsored by local businesses including Ginger Boats, Cumbrian Ales, Bassenthwaite Lake Station, Shake Waffle and Roll, Embleton Spa Hotel, Ennerdale Brewery, Luchini's Ice Cream & Gelato Shop, Heavenly Fish & Chips.

The weather forecast (dare we say...) is looking good. Sensible winds (possibly from a favourable direction) and even some sunshine! Entries will be open on the gate for sailors, with space for those wanting to camp in tents. All event info is available here.
