Day Two of the 2024 Melges 24 U.S. National Championship proved to be the most challenging yet, with two races completed late in the day giving way to a new overall event leader — Geoff Fargo racing Sentinel.
Thanks to winning both races, he is now leading by two points ahead of Cuyler Morris’ Dark Horse. Defending Corinthian Champion Dan Berezin on Surprise improved to finish the day in third overall and now leads the Corinthian division. Rounding out the top five are fellow Corinthian competitor John Bell with Jeff Grange at the helm of Mocos, and Ed Schifferens’ all-collegiate entry of Ryan Satterberg on 3rd Generation RTN, with crew members Oliver Stokke, Jon Seawards, Liam Andresen, and Blake Behrens.
Sunday marks the final day of racing at the Nationals, where racing is expected to start late again with no racing after 3:30 p.m. Pacific time.
