Sailing has finished and the Live Ocean Racing team has finished 7th overall in the ETF26 class at Foiling Week 2024, raced against the stunning mountainous backdrop of Lake Garda in Italy.

Light airs were the story of the week at Foiling Week 2024 and it continued on the final day. The ETF26 fleet were on the water early again for a morning session of racing to determine the podium and final placings for the event, with prize-giving held in the afternoon.

Speaking after racing Live Ocean Racing skipper Liv Mackay said, “We just had our final races here in Garda – we had three races in the morning breeze which was pretty soft - we had some good racing, some good starts. Really enjoyed being back here with the ETF26 class in Garda, its always an incredible venue.”

Today Mackay and the team came away with two 5ths and a 7th to round out the regatta.

Acknowledging her racing team and coaching support she said, “It’s been really good with the team this week, sailing with Leonard and Oscar, and having Tom and Jo involved. Huge thank you to the team, and for all the support.”

French entry Enterprises du Morbihan went into the final day just one point ahead of Nicolai Sehested’s Rockwool crew from Denmark – the French went on to confirm the victory by a four-point margin and stand atop the podium. Sehested and crew took 2nd and Blue Shift Sailing Team (FRA) were 3rd.

The Live Ocean Racing 2024 team features Liv Mackay, Leonard Takahashi and Oscar Gunn sailing in a three-up configuration. As a separate sister entity to marine conservation charity Live Ocean Foundation, the Live Ocean Racing team proudly carries the Live Ocean brand showcasing the message of ‘a healthy ocean for a healthy future’ as they race on the world stage at events like this one.
