APAC's first Excess 14 arrives in Tahiti

After an exciting voyage with ups and downs, the first Excess 14 in Asia Pacific hit the waters of Tahiti on June 4th. The crew which was comprised of the owner Jean-Pierre, the founder of Sail Tahiti David Allouch and two young sailors left Les Sables-d'Olonne, France this winter and sailed a course of 12, 000 nautical miles, safely arriving in the destination.

Jean-Pierre and his wife Béatrice used to be monohull owners. Lured by the charms of Polynesia during a cruise on the Paul Gauguin, the couple decided to return and further explore the South Pacific islands. Their monohull wasn't most suitable for Polynesia. So they chose the Excess 14 for her reliable features like high performance, great comfort onboard, and monohull-like sensations due to double helm aft design.

Excess launches the new overlapping Genoa on the Excess 11

Excess announces the launch of the new vintage of its Excess 11, incorporating an overlapping genoa. This new feature enables the Excess 11 to offer even more sensations under sail.

With an extended sail area, this innovation brings not only more speed, but also more sailing ability in light airs, to make the most of every trip. Trimming possibilities (twist) have been improved to offer sailors optimum control, while maintaining simple, intuitive maneuvers led back to the helm.

This improvement applies to both the standard rig and the Pulse-Line version (taller mast).

This new version with an overlapping genoa adds 16.5% more sail area compared to the previous version with a jib. Upwind sail area of the Pulse Line version now reaches 95.5m" (vs. 82m" with the selftacking jib).

With a sail geometry similar to that of the Excess 14, the Excess 11 fits harmoniously into the Excess Catamarans range.

Why APAC owners favor European delivery

APAC's first Excess 14 was picked up in Les Sables-d'Olonne, France, so was the case of Australia's first Excess 14. Two brand-new Excess 11 arrived in Tahiti in March whose owners also chose to receive the vessel in France and embark on adventures of a lifetime with the assistance of professional skippers or their dealers.

So comes the question, why more and more APAC owners favor European delivery? Here's some highlights of this service.

  • Skip the long wait for the dream boat to arrive at home port;
  • Embark on the journey of a lifetime right away! The exciting route includes crossing the Atlantic which has been the dreams of many owners and sailing enthusiasts, visiting the Mediterranean and the Caribbean islands; crossing the South Pacific and back to sweet home;
  • Our APAC dealers like Flagstaff Marine (based in Australia) and Sail Tahiti (based in French Polynesia), offer premium on-site factory pickup services for owners. Contact our dealers directly and learn more about the services;
  • Do the European sightseeing onboard while gaining practical sailing skills during the journey;
  • Save the budget of shipping expenses and VAT tax for savoring top-quality French wine and European cuisine.
