The 28th edition of the Squib Gold Cup, sponsored by Hyde Sails, to take place at Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, over the Bank Holiday Weekend, 4th and 5th of May, 2024.

With more than 20 boats entered, the Hyde Sails Squib Gold Cup, one of the staples of the Squib calendar and the first event of the Burnham Squib Fleet MayHEM, is to take place at Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, over the early May Bank Holiday, 4th and 5th of May 2024.

Hyde Sails, the sponsor of the 28th edition of the Gold Cup, has a long running history with the Squibs, having supplied and supported the class for many years and will be providing 50 caps for entrants and 6 custom Squib holdalls as prizes for the top 3 boats overall.

The event, which had its first edition during the Burnham Week 1996, under the leadership of Paul Firmin, supported by then class captain Bill Jones, vice-captain Roger Tolhurst and Burnham Sailing Club commodore, Peter Merchant, will be the perfect testing ground for Hyde Sails new B3 Squib Main & Jib Designs, after their very successful beta test at the Inland Championships late last season, where they comfortably won the event.

There is also a packed social programme, with a Mexican themed dinner at the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, 120 places already booked, on Saturday evening, followed by the 60th celebratory party of the Burnham Squib Fleet class captain, Dan Wastnage, who hopes "we are going to dance the night away". The Sunday Prize Giving Dinner will be hosted by RCYC.

The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club is looking forward to hosting the event, a perfect beginning for the spring season.
